Yangon – Bago – Thanlyin

This program has just enough time to visit Yangon, green garden city, shops, magnificent Shwe Dagon Pagoda and excursion to Thanlyin (Syriam) and Bago.

Day 01: Yangon

Welcome at Yangon International Airport. Welcome by your experienced guide at the airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, free at leisure. Evening visit the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02: Yangon – Bago – Yangon

After breakfast at the hotel, leave Yangon and drive to Bago formally known as Hathawady, 80 km to the northwest of Yangon. Bago is an ancient capital of Mon Kingdom in ( 13th – 16th ) century. On the way visit the Allied War Cemetery near Htaukkyant, ( 27,000 stone graves of allied soldiers died in Myanmar during WW II). Sightseeing in Bago includes Kyaik Pun Pagoda – four gigantic 30 meter high sitting Buddha images, 55 meter long Shwethalyaung reclining Buddha Image and the Mon style Shwemawdaw Pagoda – one of the most venerated and the highest stupa in Myanmar, the well-restored former palace Kambozathadi and walk around the colourful Bago Market. Drive back to Yangon and when we arrive Yangon visit Kaba Aye Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda), Maha Pasana Guha Cave (where the sixth Buddhist synod was held in 1952), Buddhist Art Museum (a wide collection of religious things and Buddhist texts). Overnight in Yangon.

Day 03: Yangon – Thanlyin – Yangon

After breakfast, drive to Thanlyin ( Syrium ) across Thanlyin Bridge and visit Thanlyin’s Kyaik-khauk Pagoda and Kyaik-mhawwun Yele Pagoda at Kyauktan. Afternoon drive back to Yangon and enjoy city tour including Bogyoke Aung San Market, Sule Pagoda, Botataung Pagoda, China Town and the fruit market. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 04: Yangon

After breakfast at the hotel, visits to Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha, Karaweik Royal Barge on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake, for photo stop. Transfer to Yangon Airport for departure.
