Yangon – Kyaikhtiyoe – Mawlamyine – Thanphyuzayat – Bago – Yangon (7 days / 6 nights)
Travel by road to the southern coast and the picturesque colonial town of Mawlamyine & Thanphyuzayat, the World War II Allies’ cemetery.
Day 01: Yangon
Welcome at Yangon International Airport. Welcome by your experienced guide at the airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, free at leisure. Evening visit the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 02: Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock)
Early breakfast at the hotel then drive to Kyaikhtiyo, 190 km to the east. It is Myanmar’s one of the most sacred place for Buddhist, a huge golden-leafed boulder balanced precariously on the edge of a cliff at the top of Mount Kyaikhtiyo. A single hair of the Buddha was enshrined in the small stupa on top of the Golden Rock. Late morning, arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp and transfer to the transit junction by truck for one hour. Continue for one hour of light hiking up to the summit. Overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.
Day 03: Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) – Mawlamyaing
After breakfast, descend to the base-camp, take truck where the private car is waiting for. On arrival, proceed to Mawlamyine, crossing the Thanlwin Bridge which is newly opened at 2005. Sightseeing in Mawlamyaing includes Mahamuni Paya – the most beautiful Mon style temple in Mawlamying, Seindon Miphaya (the queen of Kin Mindon) Monestary, U Zina Temple. Enjoy sunset from Kyaikthanlan Temple – the tallest temple of the city and we can have the bird’s eye view of the city. Overnight in Mawlamying.
Day 04: Mawlamaying – Thanbyuzayat – Mawlamyaing
After breakfast, drive from Mawlamyaing to Thanbyuzayat (Tin Shelter), was the western terminus of the infamous Burma-Siam Railway, the “Death Railway” by the thousands of Allied prisoners of war (POWs) and Asian coolies who were forced by the Japanese Military to built it which was connected with the famous River Kwai inThailand. On the way visit Win Sein Taw Ya where there is the world largest reclining Buddha image which under still construction. Then proceed through beautiful Rubber plantation to Thanbyuzayat. Visit 2nd World War memorial cemetery in Thanbyuzayat. Drive back from Thanbyuzayat to Mawlamyaing. Arrive in Mawlamyaing in the evening and day at leisure. Overnight in Mawlamying.
Day 05: Mawlamyaing Yangon by car
After breakfast at hotel, drive from Mawlamyaing to Hpa-An about 2-hour drive. Arrive in Hpa-An and visit Lake Kanthayar for photo stop; Hpa-An market and Shweyinmyaw world peace at the banks of Thanlwin River. Proceed to Yangon from Hpa-An and arrive Yangon in the late evening. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 06: Yangon
After breakfast, enjoy city tour including Sule Pagoda- the landmark of the city centre and colonial area. Walk around the Mahabandoola Park to see the colonial courthouse and the city hall. Continue visit Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha Image. In the afternoon visit Bogyoke Aung San market – formally known as Scott Market, Botataung Pagoda, China Town and the fruit market. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 07: Departure
After breakfast, leisure at the hotel until departure flight.
