Popa – Heho – Inle – Kakku

Yangon – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Kalaw – Inle – Kakku – Heho – Yangon (10 days / 9 nights)

Day 01: Yangon

Welcome at Yangon International Airport. Welcome by your experienced guide at the airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, free at leisure. Evening visit the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02: Yangon – Bagan

dhamma-yan-gyiBreakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to Yangon Airport for early morning flight to Bagan (80 minutes). On arrival at Nyaung Oo Airport, transfer to hotel for refreshment. After refreshment, start to visit in Bagan including colourful Nyaung Oo Local Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi (a cave temple with exquisite jatakas murals paintings) and the elegant Htilominlo Temple (noted for its plaster carvings) and Tharaba Gate. In the afternoon, visit to Ananda (an architectural masterpiece of the early-style temple), Ananda Okkyaung (one of the few surviving brick monasteries from the early Bagan period), Thatbyinnyu (the highest in Bagan, rising to 61 m) and Dhammayangyi Temple (noted for its finest brickwork). Enjoy sunset at one of the most famous temples in Bagan. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 03: Bagan – Popa – Bagan

Drive to Mt.Popa – an extinct volcano which is known as “Home of the Spirits” and observe the life of rural area on the way such as producing the palm sweets. We may stop at some places to take photos. Climb up 777 steps to reach the top of Mt. Popa cliff temple and enjoy the landscapes, the panoramic view of extinct volcano and the plain to Bagan. Come down and visit Minnanthu Village and enjoy sunset by boat about 45 minutes. Check in at the hotel and leisure. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 04: Mingun & Mandalay Sightseeing

mandalayMorning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, check in hotel and Boat excursion to Mingun (01 hour) along mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. During the river cruise, we may enjoy the fascinating landscapes of the river as well as the daily life of the people living along the Ayeyarwaddy. Visit Mingun pagoda – unfinished pagoda & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, the unusual Myatheindan pagoda then back to Mandalay. After lunch, visit Mahamuni Buddha Image-one of the most sacred Buddha Images in Myanmar covered with gold-leaves. Continue visiting of traditional handicraft workshops such as, marble carving, gold leaves beating, Kuthodaw Pagoda, which houses 729 marble slabs sculptured the Buddha’s Doctrine., Shwenandaw (Golden Palace) Monastery, noted for the masterpiece of wood carving and enjoy the sunset from the top of Mandalay Hill where we can admire the beauty of Mandalay City and Shan Plateau. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 05: Amarapura – Saging – Ava (Inwa)

kaungmudawMorning, breakfast at the hotel. transfer to Amarapura (01:00 hr), an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory . And then proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill, the place of over 700 monasteries, Kaungmudaw Pagoda-the magnificent dome remarkably seen from far away, silverware factory, etc. After lunch, drive to Inwa . On arrival, cross a tributary by ferry boat. Visit around Inwa by horse-cart. Sightseeing includes Maenu Okkyaung Monastery built by the chief queen in 1818, Nan Myint Tower – 27 meter high, Bargayar Monastery – well known for its wood carving with 267 teak pillars. Return to Amarpaura and enjoy the sunset by crossing over U Bein Bridge. Then proceed to Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 06: Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Inle

inle02Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho. On arrival, drive to Pindaya (60 km, 01:30 hours) drive and enjoy the marvelous landscapes of hilly region with vegetables plantations and cultivations. Pindaya is also known for the Shan paper and monk umbrella makers. Visit the Pindaya Cave – houses 8094 Buddha Images and visit traditional paper & umbrella making home base cottage industry. Drive to Kalaw (45 km from Pindaya) is a beautiful hill station surrounded by pine trees and was a popular hill station for the British. The road from Kalaw to Pindaya passes through Pa-O villages and countryside of magnificent scenic beauty.

Day 07: Kalaw – Inle Sightseeing

Visit local market and Hnee paya – Buddha image made of bamboo then drive to Inle Lake, the second largest natural lake in Myanmar with 22.4 Km long and 11.2 Km wide, it is situated 1320 meters above sea level among the hazy blue mountains. Check in hotel. Boat excursion to Lotus-petal robe & silk weaving looms at Inn Paw Hone village, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda – the most venerable pagoda on the lake which houses 05 images of Buddha completely gilded, Nga Phae Chaung Monastery (jumping cats monastery), etc. Overnight at Inle Lake.

Day 08: Inle – Kakku – Aye Thar Yar New Township (near Taunggyi)

inle03Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to jetty and drive to Taunggyi – the capital of Shan State, 1500 meters above sea level. Proceed to Kakku village and on the way enjoy the natural heritage. Arrive in Kakku pagodas with the magnificent collection of centuries old Buddhist stupas and drive to Aye Thar Yar New Township. Overnight at Aye Thar Yar New Township.

Day 09: Aye Thar Yar New Township – Heho – Yangon

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Heho Airport for the flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer and check in at the hotel. Visit Sule Pagoda which is the landmark of the city, Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha Image, shopping at Bogyok Aung San (Scott) Market. Continue visit Botahtaung Pagoda – the combination of stupa & temple, China Town & fruit market. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 10: Departure

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Free until travel to Yangon International Airport for the departure flight.
